Guest sentiment
A snapshot of what local diners frequently mention about this location.
"Stumbled across this place on the map and dropped in right when they opened- had amazing service, great food, and good music. chef came out and asked how things were. will definitely be back!"
"Such a chill place to get great food. We stopped in right after 4 after a long hike. We were greeted and seated immediately. Great vibe in there..it’s decorated well. The chairs are very comfortable. Now to the food…the menu had a great selection, something for everyone. Food was delicious we got the buzz burger and a chicken Katsu sandwich and both were delicious. The fries are thin and crispy and some of the best we have had. Highly recommend."
"The vibe, the food, the owners- I don’t usually leave reviews but this place deserves it. Words of wisdom from a native Vermonter and Mainer, this place is a must try and well worth the drive if you’re not local. The fries had the perfect crisp, the chicken sando and burger were wicked good, and the berry compote atop the cheesecake created a delectable dessert."
"Omg these are the best fries I’ve have ever had in all my life, and I’ve trying fries in hundreds of restaurants across the country and none beats this. Fresh, crunchy, real potatoes, the rest are not even close. Im not joking, and Im coming back tomorrow before I leave cause I’m from Florida, thank you!! And the burger so Good, is in my top 3"
"The staff was so welcoming and kind. The atmosphere was a little zany; not a lot of cohesive patterns here. Some eclectic iconic items, 80s collectibles, tiki related, and some super random items scattered around the place. The bar stools are cozy, and give of a 60s luxury feel to them. Overall the place has a welcoming hipster vibe to it. Where that isn't my vibe of choice, it's pulled off so well, you have to give it up to them for making such a great place exist."
"My new spot on my way home from Sunday River. Awesome chicken sandwich and incredible fries all washed down with tasty beer. Great music and super friendly people."
"First visit to Wook Nook - outstanding all around. Service was excellent - very attentive and friendly. The Singapore Sling was delicious...very much well-balanced. Best cocktail I've had in Norway, hands-down. Recommend the beef quesobirria tacos as well, the broth was bursting with flavor & the lime crema was an excellent side as well. The Old Fashioned was also very good, as was the blueberry pie - crust was awesome! If I had to add a sprinkle of constructive criticism, I would make your buffalo wings a tad spicier, or offer a version that kicks it up a notch. The blue cheese crumble provided is excellent, but I think it would shine brighter with a hotter wing by its side. Will definitely be back for some live music next time! Thank you!!"
"What a afternoon delight it was indeed, unlike the song, I had a burger and a beer- here at the Wook Nook. The atmosphere was great, the food was good and was deliver to my table lightning fast. There was a mother with her young children in the small area off to the side that were having a great time and for once it didn’t spill over to the bar area unlike other places I’ve visited.. The decor is amazing here with the custom leather chairs for dining and bar which are unparalleled anywhere in the state of Maine, I promise you that. Don’t miss this hidden gem nestled in the foothills of Western Maine. Btw, this place is owned and operated by A very friendly younger couple which brings their infant child along for the journey , I give kudos to them for being able to share their labor of love with their offspring while catering to the locals appetite for great food and beverages along with local live music, for me it surely was a win win win!"
